Price Increases!

price increasesBy: CCommunity.com Inc.

As residents of South Florida, we have seen price increases in almost all areas - gasoline, insurance, electricity, water, food, cost of services, association special assessments and dues, and the list goes on. Most of these price increases are outside our control. Your residential service providers see their costs rise and they can either pass the costs onto the consumer or reduce the level of service.

How would you like to be able to
avoid price increases on the
services performed at your home?

You can have an impact! The community can have an impact!

How would you also like to see the following in your community:

  • 50% reduction in the number of service providers in the community each day while also reducing safety and security concerns?
  • Reduce the carbon footprint of the community by 50%?
  • Improve the overall quality of services?
  • Reduce the fuel consumption by 4,875 gallons per year?

We can reduce the costs to the providers, reduce carbon footprint, reduce traffic, etc. each by 50% if we can increase the average customer size of the good service providers by only 2 customers, up from 4.1.

The objective to grow a provider’s customer base from 4 to 6 residents. This is very realistic and could have a dramatic impact. The opportunity is actually much more.

A. How Can You Help?

  1. Recommend your good service providers. Complete the enclosed postage paid survey and place it in the mail.
  2. Encourage your service provider to participate. Ask your provider how many customers they have in your community and if they are interested in growing their customer base in the community. If so, have them call us at 561-997-5000 or visit this website.

B. What We Will Do

  1. Receive your feedback
  2. Contact the service providers and encourage them to participate.
  3. Encourage providers to offer incentives to the residents
  4. Add their company to our provider list on the website and newsletter

C. Action

  1. We will provide feedback on which providers are participating and their incentive through the upcoming newsletters. We will also provide feedback on providers that choose not to participate.
  2. Each resident should look through the list of providers and services and determine how they can help themselves and the community.

D. On Going

  1. We continue to solicit your feedback on providers. Functionality will be added to the website where you can rate a provider.
  2. We will continue to update the progress in the newsletters.

Reduce the number of providers or increase a providers customer base in the community and benefits will also include:

    • Better service level – a provider with a larger customer base in a community should spend more time and effort making customers happy – more to lose.
    • Accessibility – a provider who has more customers in a community is in the community more frequently – making them more accessible.
    • Less Traffic – less traffic = improved safety, security and quality of life.

Service Provider Price Increases

By CCommunity.com

Service Providers have also experienced price increases, besides the fact that they need higher income to cover their increased cost of living.

  • Diesel fuel prices have risen 60% since 2007
  • Gasoline prices have risen 25% in the last year
  • Minimum wage has increased 12% in 2008 and 11% planned for 2009
  • Most material prices have increased, especially petroleum based products (i.e. fertilizer, pest control, chlorine, etc.), by double digits this year.

Community Statistics

By Randy Kreisel

The following statistics are based on a community of 100 homes. Do you know that . . .

  • The average service provider has 4.1 customers in a community?
  • The annual overhead for providers to service residents in a 100 home community is $757 per home, this excludes the cost to perform the service.
  • These providers generate 4,756 visits to a community each year?
  • These providers generate approximately 34 tones of Carbon Dioxide (CO2 gas) each year.

How To Calculate Carbon Footprint for the Community

community carbon footprint

By CCommunity.com

We took the basic stated MPG for a Chevrolet pick up (15 MPG) and calculated the average mileage a provider would drive to a community, to the residence, and then onto the next community.  A 15 mile trip generates .007 tones of CO2. 4,756 provider visits per year X .007 equals 34 tones per year.

You need to plant 24 new trees each year to create a carbon offset.
